Spoke begann als DJ im Berlin der späten Nullerjahre während die erste Grime Welle aus Großbritannien in die Techno-Hauptstadt schwappte. Die Genres Hip Hop, Grime, Garage, Drum’n’Bass, Dubstep, Juke und Trap wurden in wechselnden Phasen zum musikalischen Fokus von Spoke’s DJ Sets.
Viele Jahre hat die non-binary Produzent:in die Beats quer durch die FLINTA* Rap Szene produziert von Ostberlin Androgyn über Finna bis Nashi44.
Mit Slomo Studio schafft Spoke einen Raum der neue Standards ermöglicht und zu Self-Empowerment in der praktischen Studioarbeit motiviert. Damit leistet Spoke einen erheblichen Beitrag um strukturell Benachteiligten den Zugang zur Musikproduktion zu ermöglichen und Vernetzung zu fördern. Spoke engagiert sich leidenschaftlich für die Förderung queerer Künstler:innen und für die Vernetzung queerer Produzent:innen und Techniker:innen im professionellen Audio Bereich.
Mit dem Release des Mixtapes “Fighters” nehmen Spoke zusammen mit MCs ALICE DEE, CAXXIANNE, LEILA A. und SORAH multilingual das Patriarchat auseinander.
Spoke started as a DJ in Berlin in the late noughties while the first grime wave from the UK was spilling into the techno capital. Hip hop, grime, garage, drum’n’bass, dubstep, juke and trap became the musical focus of Spoke’s DJ sets in alternating phases.
For many years the non-binary producer made beats across the FLINTA* rap scene for acts like Ost Berlin Androgyn, Finna or Nashi44.
With Slomo Studio Spoke creates a space that enables new standards and motivates self-empowerment in practical studio work. In this way, Spoke makes a significant contribution to enabling structurally disadvantaged people to access music production and to promote networking. As a non-binary artist and producer, Spoke is passionately committed to the promotion of queer artists and the networking of queer producers and technicians in the professional audio field.
Now, Spoke and their MCs ALICE DEE, CAXXIANNE, LEILA A. and SORAH multilingually tear down the patriarchy on their first Mixtape “Fighters”.
